If Fedor retires and no one sees it, does it make a sound?

If you read this blog you know I was not one to believe in the hype of “The Last Emperor” – but, unless you’re Kenny Florian, I won’t dance at your retirement.

This week Fedor finally called it a day after a KO win over Pedro Rizzo in St. Petersburg. As  you see in the above image, the fight was attended by Russian president Vladimir Putin who entered the ring after the match to praise Fedor personally.

Let’s have some fun.  Since I don’t speak Russian, what do you think the President is saying here?

He is saying “thank you for not fighting the American, Randy Couture, and giving mother Russia the shame of a real life Rocky 4 loss. We have so little to be proud of; thank you for not stripping us of the ability to argue that we birthed the greatest heavyweight champion of MMA. Now you will continue to make us proud by fighting the bears in the russian premier circuses but only one round Fedor, you no have to do cardio no more. You have earned the rest.”

  2. Well said. I’ll assume this is 100% accurate.

Lol – my German is much better but I believe this Russian translation to be at least 90% accurate.
