UFC: The Ultimate Insider

Not to be outdone by Fox Sports MMA Athletics, the UFC has unveiled another of its marketing weapons: The UFC Ultimate Insider.  This new video series aired on UFC.com is another video product to give fans an in-depth look at the MMA world.

Hosted by UFC personality Arianny Celeste, UFC Ultimate Insider includes:

  • Flashbacks of the most recent event;
    • Including fighters mic’d during key match ups
  • Looks forward at the next PPV card;
  • Interviews with fighters;
  • Behind the scenes look at fighters; and,
  • Training tips from top coaches.

The video quality is excellent and this is a highly polished media product.  For me personally, my favorite part was the ‘hands on’ training that showed you how to perform a particular technique.  In the episode I watched trainer Greg Jackson showcased the proper technique to overturn a strong double leg takedown.

For now, this video is direct content for fans without any commercial interruption.  I’ll be curious to see if this is how it remains or if brands will start to creep in between segments.  Similar to MMA athletics, this is not a brief show.  As such, I’d wait until your lunch break to watch in order to avoid any trouble with ‘the man.’
